What to expect when having your liner replaced
When having your liner replaced there are some things to keep in mind. Depending on the age of your pool you might have some rust on the interior of the pool wall. If this is the case we can still replace your liner. We specialize in wall repairs where pool walls are rusting and rotting.
Pool Wall Repairs
When we run into a rotted or rusted wall we first sand the wall with a wire brush to remove any loose debris. Once the debris is cleared we roll the pool wall with Rustoleum Paint to slow down the rusting. If there are holes in the wall or the skimmer and return area is rotted out we install wall sections as wall patches. These patches strengthen the pool wall. Sometimes we cut out the skimmer area and install a new skimmer area to fasten the new skimmer to the pool.
How do we keep the liner protected?
After repairing and painting the wall we install a foam wall padding. This padding will keep the liner away from abrasive area from wall rusting and away from our wall patches.
Installing the liner
Once the wall foam is in place we can resurface the bottom of the pool. If there is a need for more sand we will bring in more sand. We wet the sand so it packs down good when we tamp and roll the bottom. After this is done we can spread out the new liner.Once the liner is spread out and centered we can begin to hang the liner. After the liner is installed we use a vacuum to suck out all the air in between the wall and the liner. This helps us get all the wrinkles out. Now all the wrinkles are out we can begin to fill the swimming pool. When the water covers the bottom of the pool we can shut off our vacuum and pull it out. The water will keep the wrinkles from coming back.
